Home Team Moving is a locally owned moving company based in Lexington, Massachusetts. We have been moving families and businesses throughout Lexington, Arlington, Winchester, Belmont, and the surrounding Greater Boston communities since 2011.

Over the past 15 years, we have completed thousands of moves across Massachusetts and New England, and more than 70% of our work comes from repeat customers and the friends and family they refer to us. That number is the clearest answer to the question of who we are and how we work.

Our Story

Home Team Moving was founded in 2011 by experienced movers who saw the same problems show up on job after job at larger companies. Crews showed up unprepared. Estimates turned into surprise charges. Homeowners were handed off to subcontractors they had never spoken to. The work suffered, and so did the customer experience.

We started Home Team Moving to do the opposite. We hired our own movers instead of contracting out. We trained them ourselves. We priced jobs honestly by the hour, not with inflated flat rates. And we made free on-site estimates the default for every move so customers knew what to expect before we ever loaded a truck. We built the company on the simple idea that if you treat a customer’s home like it is your own, that customer calls you back the next time and tells their neighbors about you.

Fifteen years later, that is exactly what has happened. Most of our calendar fills with repeat customers and referrals before we ever spend a dollar on advertising. Our customers in Lexington, Arlington, Winchester, and Belmont have moved with us once, then called us again when their kids needed an apartment moved across town, when their parents downsized, and when their friends asked who they trusted with their belongings.

I used Home Team moving when I had to move out while my place was being renovated. Since my place is small Ben did the initial estimate over Zoom, which was pretty accurate. Brian, Rich, and Shaq carefully packed my things and were very nice and patient. At the last minute I had to postpone the move back date because the contractor had left the place a mess. Ben was very understanding and didn't even make me lose my deposit. Shaq was there again to finally move me back in and putting up with the contractor still working. My kitchen trash and rug were misplaced but Matt eventually found them and was very apologetic. He even came back to pick up some padding that had been used to pad some lamps in a box. Amazing people!

This was my first more premium moving experience and I'm honestly blown away! Had no idea what I was missing. Punctual. Predictable. Efficient. Professional. Hard workers. I don't think I heard a single complaint about the heavier items or the fact that the place was a mess.They had good systems in place for reminders and updates. Every single mover we interacted felt like good people. Shaq, Mick, James and the rest of the crew. Seriously is night and day compared to my many previous moves where I'm pretty much uncomfortable the whole time. 10 out of 10 experience all around.Pro tip: We had a couple movers come the day prior to "move day" to help us pack and if your budget or circumstances allow just go for it. On one hand it helped us procrastinate leading up to the move but we felt really really good about doing so. The least stressful move week I've ever had.

We did an out of state move end of April from our Lexington house of 48 yrs to a condo in Kittery, ME. Move out was 2 days before move in. We are headquartered at 789 Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington and led by company president Ben Damian. The team is small enough that we know each customer by name and large enough to run multiple moves a day across the region. Our movers are full-time employees, not subcontractors, and every one of them has gone through our hands-on training program in proper packing, lifting, padding, and floor protection before they ever step into a customer’s home. For most moves, Ben or a senior member of our team will visit your home personally for a free on-site estimate. That walk-through is how we get accurate quotes, plan the right crew and truck for the job, and answer any questions you have before you book.

WOW. I don’t really know where to begin with this review. I guess the beginning…I met Ben, the owner of Home Team Movers when he came to give an estimate to my tenant for her move to the next town; plus, a move of some of her items to a storage facility.His relaxed manner was infectious, as he answered every question carefully and fully. His details left no more questions from the group.The day of packing came and by day’s end, everything was packed neatly in the apartment - ready to go. Hard to believe, but moving day was even better. The crew got right to work packing the truck, they worked continuously and made quick work of loading all the boxes into the truck. Someone came and asked me for a broom. He proceeded to sweep up anything and everything from the floor and then walked around with me through each room to make sure I was satisfied with the results of their work. If this wasn’t enough, they asked where I would like the trash bags, so I wouldn’t have to carry them.Ben came by to make sure everything was properly done, which was comforting and reassuring. I guess one of the best things about this move was the attitude of the owner and crew. They were extremely professional, but at the same time, friendly and seemingly happy to be doing their job to the best of their abilities.Thank you so much for making a difficult job look easy and for taking the stress out of moving day. I definitely will use these guys next time I have to move.

We had a very positive experience with Home Team Moving — it was fantastic from start to finish. I called several different companies for quotes and Ben was the only one who offered, actually insisted, that he come to house. He wanted to see exactly what the move would entail so he could give us an accurate quote. (I was annoyed to get quotes from other companies who had not even seen our home.) Ben came out the next day, walked thru the house, saw every floor, every room, opened every door. He immediately had suggestions for how to handle the move efficiently and with the least amount of stress. It was clear that he wasn’t just considering how to our stuff, but also how to help us handle the move emotionally. A day or two later he sent me an estimate with a breakdown and a proposed schedule. It was a helpful process that made me feel like we were in good hands.We ended up spreading the move out over three days. The first day the team tackled the kitchen and helped me pack our basement, which included a large number of collectibles and memorabilia. It was an emotional day for me as I helped them remove and carefully pack the items. The team was supportive and positive and kept things moving along. We followed more of Ben’s great advice and stayed at a hotel the night before the move. Load in day had them dealing with icy conditions in the driveway, but the team was prepared and unfazed. Again, everyone was positive and efficient. They were constantly checking in about where we wanted things placed so we wouldn’t have to move anything after they left. We have moved MANY times over the last 20 years and this was by far the least stressful. It was actually kind of fun — great conversations, lots of laughter and kindness all around. We are thankful to Ben and the whole team for making it such a great experience.FYI: we moved from a 3000sqft home to a 4000sqft within the same town.

I was recommended to use Home Team and I couldn’t have been happier with the care and hard work that the team put into my move. They wrapped all the furniture and boxes fragile items. Brian led the team of 5 guys for the move out and 5 guys for the move in. John, Ray, Leo, Angel and Shaq busted their ass for two days. There was no loafing. They were all communicative. I added more items to the move and needed 3 trucks instead of two. It cost me more money but they were able to accommodate me when I trucks are hard to during June. Third time I’ve hired Home Team & as usual they were great. This job was unusual and took almost eight hours to complete with the outside temperature a muggy 90F. The crew spent hours packing and moving hundreds of pieces of glass, jars of mycological specimens, shelving & furniture. I stayed completely out of their way during the packing/loading the truck phase. But, when they were unloading (which took less than an hour) I hung out in an unaffected room. After all of those hours packing, moving & dealing with the muggy heat they were in great spirits & joking with each other. If it had been me I would have been a cranky puddle of sweat. Thanks guys!

I really appreciated that Matt did a Facetime with me before drawing up a quote so I could feel confident that the estimate was realistic and there wouldn't be any surprises. Enrique, KJ, and Shaq were amazing on moving day. It was a gross, snowy day in February and they showed up in good humor and stayed that way all day long. They were careful and professional with all of my belongings, and were also a ton of fun to be around. I'm so grateful I found Home Team for my move, and I've already recommended them to everyone I know who's getting ready to move!

Enrique and his crew were awesome! They took great care in taking apart beds and moving large dressers, packing and wrapping items carefully. They were cautious moving items out of the old house and again very careful and thoughtful in loading furniture into the new house. We also asked that they apply new felt pads to each of the furniture items which they did with no problems. They were extremely polite and reasonable to work with. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again when the time comes.

They fit me in before another job on short notice, moved a 500 gallon aquarium, stand and a ton of accessories. The crew showed up on time and got a plan together. Moving this tank was no easy feat… but these guys made it look it. Loaded undamaged with only a bit of stinky aquarium water on them. 😂 Great job crew and thanks again!

Moving is not fun, but these guys made it as painless and even entertaining as one could ever hope for. The process was great in all respects. The estimate was fair and the price actually came in a bit below the estimate. The crew was friendly, funny, upbeat, and incredibly helpful. Moving large furniture into an old house can be really challenging, but the crew consistently found creative ways to solve what looked to me like insurmountable problems, even when it made it harder on them.I can't say enough good stuff about these guys. I hope I don't have to move again any time soon, but if I do, I will definitely call them.

However, that was far from my experience with Home Team Moving from Lexington, MA. From the very first inquiry about moving services with Matt to my actual move today, the customer service and experience was top notch. By far, it was the best moving experience I’ve had in my 20 years of professional moves for my career. I would like to give a Special Shout Out to the Superb Moving Team, Hector, Brenny, and KJ. They were extremely kind, moved with care, but also expeditiously. When I needed something moved or my area rug turned the other direction, they did so graciously and offered assistance wherever needed. They also handled my belongings like they were their own - which I appreciated so much.I was very, very impressed with the professionalism of this moving company, the attention to detail of Matt in planning, and the personalized touches the day prior (and morning of my move) to ensure all went smoothly.
