Overview

This was a local senior move that turned into a fully remote operation due to a winter storm and an unexpected injury. The client had broken her leg and was in rehab during the move, and the two friends coordinating everything were unable to attend due to the snowstorm.

Rather than delay the move, we handled the entire job remotely — coordinating in real time via video and prior planning.

The Challenge

— Client in rehab during the move (not on-site)
— Coordinating friends unable to attend due to snowstorm
— Full pack, move, storage, and donation logistics required
— Clear communication needed without anyone physically present

Our Approach

Remote coordination via video: Ran the entire move through video calls — confirming decisions, placement, and priorities in real time
Pre-planning with detailed notes: Mapped out what was going to the new home, storage, and donation ahead of time
Storage planning and setup: Helped select the right storage unit and loaded it intentionally for accessibility — not packed tight — so items could be easily retrieved later
Donation coordination: Removed unneeded furniture (table and chairs, armchair, bookcase, etc.) through our donation program to simplify the move
Full prep and clean-out: Handled packing, furniture prep, and complete clean-out of the apartment
